Support our Biocomplexity Research Building Campaign

Front

We are delighted to announce that the transformation of the Weizmann UK Building for Biocomplexity Research, located in Weisgal Square at the heart of the campus of the Weizmann Institute is now complete.

At Weizmann UK we have undertaken to generate the £3 million in funds needed for this important facility which serves the Department of Biological Regulation. The building provides state-of-the-art facilities for scientists to probe the causes of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and Crohn’s, as well as cancer and female fertility. It is also home to a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) research facility which will play a vital role in advancing imaging capabilities across many scientific fields at the Institute.

Prof. Michal Neeman, Prof. Irit Sagi, and Dr. Igor Ulitsky have relocated their labs there and research is already in progress. Studies in those labs are looking at the diverse actions of cells, tissues, and organs. Some of the biggest questions in biology are being addressed in this area, such as: What are the mechanisms involved in inflammation? How does blood flow affect tumor development? And what kinds of new tools can best visualize these processes?
